Who is Hugs & Hope Community
Table?
At Hugs & Hope Community Table and
Food Distribution, we believe everyone needs a bit of help at some point in
their lives and we are committed to being there when they do. We are a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to serve, with the love of
Christ, healthy meals and groceries to children, seniors, individuals &
families in need. Christ First Community Church is the home church and covering for Hugs & Hope Community
Table. The Vision we live out at Christ First Community Church is to worship
the Lord by putting him FIRST at Church, at Home and in the Community. Atlanta Community Food Bank The mission of the Atlanta
Community Food Bank is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering
our community. The Atlanta Community Food Bank currently
partners with over 600 nonprofit organizations in 29 metro Atlanta and north
Georgia counties to provide groceries and meals for hundreds of thousands of
people who are struggling to put food on the table. (Christ First Community Church is a
partner agency of Atlanta Community
Food Bank)

The Effects of COVID-19 on Hugs & Hope Community Table and the Precious Families in
the Community We are seeing an
increase of 20 to 25 new families come through our food distribution
line every week. No precious child, sweet senior or hard-working family
member should ever have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. Together with your help, we can have the
food necessary to feed them. With so many families
affected by the loss of jobs due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the families we
are now serving on a weekly basis has tripled in number. Because hunger
impacts children, seniors, and so many working & non-working families in
our communities we find ourselves purchasing more and more food every
week. Although we receive some aid through wonderful donations, we are
in immediate need of much more assistance. Your Support is

Will You Help Us Feed Families in Need? Will You Commit to being a Hugs & Hope Volunteer? .
Join
us in our mission to serve free meals and distribute free groceries to some
of the most vulnerable families in our community. Although we can no longer give HUGS we can
still spread HOPE through serving EACH family with joy and smiles and virtual
hugs! Our volunteers help with the unloading,
sorting, and stocking of food items, preparing meals for our families and
preparing and distributing food boxes/bags into the trunks of cars. We do all that we do with true joy and
compassion, serving each family like members of our own! Opportunities
to volunteer: Monday, Wednesday, Friday Mornings: 8 am – 10 am Tuesdays: (Food
Distribution Day): 9am-12noon; 12noon-3pm 3pm-6:30pm All volunteers should be at least 16 years
of age, without a chaperone and be able to lift 40lbs. COVID-19 safety protocol: We require all volunteers to have their
temperature taken when first checking in to volunteer. All volunteers
should always bring and wear a mask. We will always have hand sanitizer
and gloves available. We will have no more than 10 volunteers in the
building and 15 outside on any given shift. |

Community Table & Food Distribution through Christ First Community Church
has been a partner agency with The Atlanta Community Food Bank since August
of 2017. Through this wonderful opportunity with ACFB we purchased
155,556 lbs. of food and fed 4,739 families in need so far this year. But
we are quickly outgrowing the ability to cover the costs associated with
purchasing our weekly truck load of food. So, we need your help. Would you consider
sponsoring one or more trucks loaded with enough food to feed hundreds of
children, seniors, and hardworking families? The cost of one
truckload of nutritious food to feed 200-250 families is just $200! No precious child,
sweet senior or hard-working family member should ever have to wonder where
their next meal is coming from. By sponsoring one or
more of our weekly food trucks you will be helping to put that thought
